Strathdale real estate

VIC 3550 · City of Greater Bendigo · About 3 km from our East Bendigo office

Strathdale is an established residential suburb east of the Bendigo city centre, off the McIvor Highway, with a large central parkland.

The suburb

Strathdale Park and the Bulls Head Hotel

Strathdale’s land was originally a water reserve, site of the Grassy Flat reservoirs. As the area urbanised, the northern part of the reserve became Strathdale Park. The suburb was part of the Shire of Strathfieldsaye until municipal amalgamation in 1994 brought it into Greater Bendigo. Most homes date from the 1970s onward, which gives Strathdale an established feel.

A large central parkland runs south from the McIvor Highway, bordered by Strathdale-White Hills Road. Strathdale Park has several sports fields and a community hall. The Bulls Head Hotel sits on its own allotment within the park. Victory Christian College, an independent Christian P-12 school, was founded in 1995 as a ministry of Victory Church. Strath Village shopping centre is technically in neighbouring Kennington but is often referred to as being in Strathdale.
