Grain silos and Murphys Creek
Shelbourne is a rural farming district of cereal cropping and grazing, shared between the City of Greater Bendigo and the Shire of Loddon. It was originally heavily forested and saw little or no gold mining. The school opened in 1868 and the Methodist church was rebuilt in brick in 1880. Grain silos mark the old station yard on the former Maldon railway. Murphys Creek runs through the south.
