Lockwood South is a locality spread across the City of Greater Bendigo and Mount Alexander Shire. Its first school opened in 1859. A Wesleyan church was built in 1872 and is now a Uniting church, while a public hall built in the late nineteenth century is still in use. It sits in the state electorate of Bendigo West and the federal division of Bendigo.
