July has seen a continuation of the strong sale and rental markets across the region, albeit stifled due to a two week hard lockdown that blanketed the state from the middle of the month. This provided a challenge for our sales and rental teams alike, as the industry was not able to operate at its capacity for an entire two week period. We were not able to conduct any visits to properties to perform appraisals, inspections, routine inspections, condition reports, and other day to day operations that are essential for our industry to function. Staff were working from home as our office was closed during this period, meaning the reliance on Zoom and Google Teams technology was evident and an essential part of keeping our industry moving forward. All of this combined has led to a slight lag in the market, where there has not been the usual amount of stock hitting the market or sales being affected, and not as many rental properties turning over or being available. However, the positivity continued either side of the lockdown, and we are pleased to report it is business as usual and the market has hit the ground running again now that the state has opened up. Stock should be in good supply in the coming weeks, and we should start seeing opens and inspections returning to normal if they are not already.
